Last week was...
First was the wind gusts. That broke a screen door (the screen is intact, but the frame that held it split in two). No major damage.
Then there was the snow storm several days later. Early reports said it was going to hit overnight, so when it was clear in the morning I thought the system was over-hyped, or it had blown out to the ocean. The rain started after noon, followed by snow around two. And the snow kept coming. It was only about 4" but it was an extra-damp snow, so everything was getting weighed down.
Didn't lose power during the storm, but some lines in adjacent roads fell, so had service cut a couple of times as the grid was getting repaired.
Then my laptop decided to die during this. It was over 10yrs old, so no surprise that it went. What came as a surprise was that it died so hard that the service people could not perform a recovery, which I did not know was possible. They said to recover these files, it would have to be mailed to another location and a level 2 recovery would have to be performed for $450, and that's not happening.
And now have an almost new computer to get use to.
